Data Analyst (Zambia Evidence Lab)








Description
To institutionalise the use of evidence in policy, IGC is supporting the establishment of the Zambia Evidence Lab (ZEL), a project spearheaded by the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, designed to enhance the use of data in policy decisions. ZEL will provide first-of-its-kind analytical expertise within the Zambian government to produce data-driven policy outputs. Based in Lusaka and reporting to the Head of the ZEL, the Data Analyst(s) will support the development of data pipelines, converting data into policy insights. The successful candidate will play a critical role in transforming raw administrative data into actionable insights, ensuring data quality, and developing visualisations to inform policy decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring consistency and quality while collaborating with the IGC Data Engineer(s) to develop automated data pipelines and maintain comprehensive metadata.
- Support data analysis and interpretation, develop dashboards using tools like Tableau or Power BI, contribute to research methodologies, and explore new technologies to enhance data processing.
- Ensure compliance with legal and ethical data standards while facilitating data-sharing efforts between ZEL, ZamStats, and other public institutions.
