Do you have an understanding of the needs and rights of children in Africa? And do you have experience with the project support and donor compliance? Then you might be our new Project Engagement Manager.

The Project Engagement Manager will be a member of the Africa team in Save the Children Denmark. The team supports Save the Children International’s country offices design impactful projects, manage specific Save the Children Denmark-supported initiatives, and secure funding from institutional donors and corporate foundations. The Project Engagement Manager will collaborate closely with other members of the team on the day-to-day programmatic and donor contract management between Save the Children Denmark and the awards and project teams in country offices in Africa.

As Project Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring support to coordination and monitoring of project implementation, compliance and reporting on assigned projects in Africa. Additionally, you will be a champion in our Award Management System, providing guidance and support to the team. You will also assist the team to make presentations of our work, provide portfolio overviews and support the documentation and communication of results.  Given the broad scope of responsibilities and tasks, this position offers a dynamic and engaging work environment.

THE TASKS
Our new colleague will be responsible for, and in some instances supportive of the following:

  • Support senior colleagues with collaborating with country offices on all aspects of project cycle management.
  • Monitoring progress towards achieving project results.
  • Capturing and sharing key lessons from assigned projects, including communication and visibility.
  • Ensuring contract compliance for the grant throughout reporting cycles and closeout.
  • Performing quality assurance/quality control on funding proposals, reports, modification requests, and other significant correspondence with donors.
  • Assist team colleagues with award management system compliance and with project proposal development.
  • Keeping track of in-house co-financing and cost-sharing decisions.
  • Informing and advising country offices on relevant project related developments at Save the Children’s Copenhagen Office.
  • Bringing questions of programmatic risks to the attention of the Senior Country Engagement Managers and Head of Region.
  • Support management of donor relations, including contributing to the development of funding proposals and coordinating and developing a combined communications and visibility plan, and collaborating around specific engagements with companies and foundations.
