Investment Manager
Description
We are looking for an exceptional full-time Investment Manager (6-8 years work experience) togrow our regenerative agricultural processing portfolio and identify the best opportunities inEast and Southern Africa. The ideal candidate is assertive, amiable, expressive, outgoing,strategic and analytical. In this role you will lead the investment due diligence and decisionprocess for potential investees, add value, monitor and report on portfolio companies,collaborate with the team and represent Grounded. You are expected to be able to operate as adirect strategic sparring partner to the founders of our investees, and you need to becomfortable operating at a director level. You will preferably be based out of the Nairobi office inKenya on a local contract. Flexible arrangements can be discussed for outstanding candidates.
Responsibilities
• Contribute to all aspects of deal flow: from sourcing, screening and evaluating new investment opportunities to leading due diligence, deal execution and closing
• Actively support existing portfolio companies with strategy, operations, business development, organizational building and governance – in some cases taking a directorseat in the portfolio company on behalf of Grounded Investment Company
• Map and research priority sectors, develop growth strategies on company and portfolio level
• Monitor and report on the portfolio including exit plans and execution
• Meet and network with entrepreneurs, investors and attend leading industry events
