With a solid foundation in Sub Saharan  Africa, including Uganda, Tanzania, and Ghana, YCI has built youth entrepreneurship  ecosystems in collaboration with governments, funders and local partners. 

YCI is seeking a Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Consultant to lead key  components of YCI's Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning functions.  

This consultancy will include the following focus areas: 

• Leading key components of the YCI MEL strategy, action plan and execution;
• Providing technical leadership on data management, including oversight of data  collection, quality assurance and management of data systems; 
• Providing technical assistance to YCI staff, volunteers and partners related to MEL,  including coaching, training and capacity building; 
• Lead key components of data analysis and reporting, for both internal learning and  donor reporting; and 
• Identifying opportunities for program improvement through data interpretation.

Experience and Background: 

• 12 + years of progressive and proven leadership and consulting experience in  monitoring, learning and evaluation with different client types and programs and  organizations; 
• High familiarity with Results-based Management, and demonstrated success  leading project Performance Measurement Frameworks and Logic Models; • Strong grasp of industry best practices in survey design, interviewing and sampling  methodologies; 
• Exceptional ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative data, including ability to  produce high-quality data visualizations and reports;
• Experience training and coaching team members in alignment with MEL strategy; • Strong written and verbal communication skills; 
• Exceptional understanding of relevant technology and systems, including key data  analysis tools (E.g. Power BI, DoveTail, KoBo, AirTable, Canva, Office Suite, Zoom) • A strong understanding of gender equality and youth entrepreneurship; • Preference to candidates with experience reporting to Global Affairs Canada or  other institutional donors.
