Data Innovators is looking for a Project Manager to drive one of our flagship projects in changemanagement, data and digitisation. The Department of Basic Education (DBE) is streamliningand digitising core Early Childhood Development (ECD) business processes, transitioning theadministration and management of Early Learning Programmes (ELPs) from a paper-basedto a digital system, and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of ECD service delivery.

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the Change Management and Trainingstream, which manages the implementation plans of the national department and nineprovincial departments in terms of data, technology and people readiness. They will beexpected to plan and lead the implementation of the change management initiatives thatcatalyse and sustain the change of practices and adoption of new processes, assessments,and data to accelerate the adoption of the new digital system. They will be expected tomanage a team of data, change, and training experts to test and roll out the system andsupport them in establishing buy-in and addressing emerging challenges. They will need toengage stakeholders across national, provincial and district offices to achieve the objectivesof the project as well as report to the Project Steering Committee and various structures onthe implementation progress and support.

The ideal candidate is expected to have sound problem-solving skills, great stakeholder handsand experience implementing change programmes in the public and social sectors. They willneed remarkable facilitation and communication skills to manage stakeholders and groupdiscussions to achieve results. They should be comfortable with data and have experiencebuilding a data culture. They will need to coach team members and maintain their motivation.

They must be organised and strong at process management.
