SNV is seeking a dynamic and pragmatic Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Advisor for its programme in Kenya. Reporting to the Country Director with technical support from the MEL Global Team, the MEL Advisor provides strategic leadership on all MEL functions. The MEL Advisor is a strategic advisor, which is a highly skilled position that focuses on the establishment and quality assurance of project and country level MEL systems, facilitation of project and country level M&E, learning and accountability frameworks, and capacity development of existing MEL staff. They coach project MEL Advisors & staff with MEL responsibilities and provide recommendations and advice to the Sector Leaders.

The solutions that the MEL Manager will drive forward in Kenya are:

  1. Improving quality & maximising the use of country and project MEL systems via mobilisation of existing M&E staff and sector staff at country level.
  2. Growing sense-making and critical analysis capacities, using data for adaptive project and country-portfolio management.
  3. Contribution to stronger knowledge management and learning, through improved change measurement and the establishment of integrated country and project learning frameworks.
  4. As part of the Business Development Committee, participate in project design and budget development to ensure MEL standards and best practices are embedded in all new projects.
